Alas, I seriously botched Emp’s body proportions on this title-page illo. Welcome to the occasionally tragic results of “eyeballing” a drawn figure, rather than carefully ruling off her proportions. Much of the time, I’m able to skate by with such casually “eyeballed” character drawings, but every now and then, this freewheeling, “Use the Force, Luke” approach goes sadly awry. Problem is, if you’re gonna crank out a lotta comics on a semi-timely basis, you’ll rarely be allowed the luxury of slow, careful, painstakingly correct drawing techniques. Shortcuts, ahoy!
