Golly, is Emp’s suit mysterious and enigmatic, or what? Gosh!

Panel 2: Gotta say, while Emp’s supersuit looks a little bit like the old costume worn by Marvel’s Spider-Woman, here it really looks like the very short-lived version of Jessica Drew’s outfit that appeared in Spider-Woman #1 when I was a wee lad, which featured a hair-covering headpiece very much like this. The creators came to their senses with the very next issue, I think, and slapped a long, flowing black mane—actually, a wig, amusingly enough—onto Spider-Woman, which the character’s retained ever since.

Along those lines, I like the idea that everyone assumes that Emp’s flowing blonde tresses are actually a wig as well, since such shampoo-commercial locks seem an obvious tactical hazard in battle. (That said, I have a No-Prize®-worthy explanation for why Emp’s hair never gets tangled or grabbed, but have never deployed that rationale in the comic proper.)
