Panel 1: Behold, a rare kinda-sorta Empowered establishing shot—or, at least, a rare exterior shot of Emp’s apartment. As I’ve said many times before, I abandoned many if not most of the strictures and tendencies of my older comics work when I began work on this series—which included the sober and responsible use of establishing shots for each new setting. In time, such shots eventually worked their way into later volumes, but they were still rare at this earlier point in the series.

Panel 2: Not sure what’s up with the missing seam on the front of Thugboy’s briefs. Mysterious! Gotta say, it’s quite possible that he might prefer the ol’ “boxer briefs” nowadays, but they weren’t much of an underwear option back in 2007, if I recall correctly.
