Panel 1: Every—or “erry,” if you prefer—now and then, I use a dramatically close-up shot of the Demonwolf’s alien-tech Cage like this to break up the repetition of shot choices during convo scene in Emp’s living room. 

Panel 2: Note that “Blazing-Eyed Devilgoat” is arguably the second most common monicker that the Demonwolf uses for himself, mainly because I like it a fair bit. I’m fairly sure there’s a running list of all his titles for himself somewhere online as a Wiki-type dealie, but I don’t feel like looking it up right now. (Plus, well, my flaky-ass DSL is down right now, anyway.)

Panel 4: Awkward! (Though certainly not remotely as awkward as the earlier Empowered vol. 4 scene in which a half-awake Thugboy belatedly discovered that he was feeling up the wrong girl.) Regardless, I do like the unusual and distinctive approach that Past Me took to drawing Ninjette’s eyes in this shot.
