Panel 3: Gotta say, you have no idea how much those background shelves of DVDs grate on me when I deign to draw them. Come to think of it, in some shots of the living-room BG, you can see books of various sorts on the shelves as well, even though we never see Emp reading one. (Or watching a DVD, either, save for a brief scene from Empowered vol.1.) 

Panel 5: Whoops, spoke too soon when I said (re: the title page) that the figurative elephant riff didn’t directly reappear in this story. Guess what, it did!

Of course, the Caged Demonwolf being able to perceive the “rising elephant trunk” in question does make one wonder about the limits of his powers of perception. Then again, as the Blazing-Eyed Devilgoat so often boasts, he is semi-omniscient.
