Panel 1: Back during this time in the series, I was quite fond of overlapping the Os in sound FX like WHOOOSH, here.  Nowadays, for reasons I'm not quite sure of, I tend to avoid the practice.

Panel 1: By this point, I was getting pretty sick of having to trace off the same g-d panel for the third time, but I think this repetition helped sell the action better than a series of shots with varying camera angles and layouts.

Panel 3: Gotta say, I didn't remember that Phallik's spear was depicted quite so often as being "all bendy-wendy," per a Joel line from MST3K's Pod People.
