We continue serialization of the collected edition of the six-issue 2018 miniseries Empowered and Sistah Spooky’s High School Hell, written and laid out by me and featuring art and lettering by Guest Artist Carla “Speed” McNeil and coloring by Jenn Manley Lee.

In retrospect, given Carla's advanced lettering skills, I should've been more inventive with the flashback text. Having all Spooky's verbal abuse appear as distinct and clearly legible dialogue was a lost opportunity; I should've asked Carla to blow up the text hugely (a la Dave Sim, say) and crop it off into not fully legible blasts of raw venom that would've delivered far more impact. (Oh, well.)
