We continue serialization of the collected edition of the six-issue 2018 miniseries Empowered and Sistah Spooky’s High School Hell, written and laid out by me and featuring art and lettering by Guest Artist Carla “Speed” McNeil and coloring by Jenn Manley Lee.

Anyhoo, as noted yesterday, nowadays I'm an advocate of using all available comics pagecount to vary up one's storytelling and narrative approaches as much as possible, which really wasn't the case with this miniseries, alas. However, when we get to Empowered vol. 12 only a few months from now, you will see this principle put into action in a big way, as I eventually started varying things up quite nicely. I wound up trying out alllll sorts of bold new narrative and artistic choices in Emp12, even though many of these exciting experiments didn't quite work out the way I had hoped; still, couldn't hurt to try, right?
