We continue serialization of 2013's one-shot Empowered: Nine Beers with Ninjette (as collected in the anthology volume Empowered Unchained), featuring sweet B&W art by Guest Artist Takeshi Miyazawa and lettering by Susie Lee.

Panel 3: Gotta love the way that cutoff figure in the background works like a horror-movie jump scare.

Panel 4: To my annoyance, just now noticed that the published version of this story added a conspicuous (and bolded) period after Kozue's "DON'T HURT ME, DADDY", tacked on after some g-d busybody proofreader decided that should be pasted in despite the fact that I chose to go punctuation-free with this one g-d line of dialogue for g-d dramatic purposes. (I removed that period in Photoshop just now.) I work a great deal of nonstandard usage in my dialogue and text, to put it mildly, so I try to tell editors and proofreaders to run any proposed changes to said content by me first, given that I know and care more about the material than they ever will. (That said, proofreaders can still catch lettering errors in a very handy fashion, I should hasten to add.)

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test projects The Last Party and The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
