We continue serialization of 2013's one-shot Empowered: Nine Beers with Ninjette (as collected in the anthology volume Empowered Unchained), featuring sweet B&W art by Guest Artist Takeshi Miyazawa and lettering by Susie Lee.

Panel 1: I'm certain that I provided Takeshi with rudimentary page roughs for this story, but dang if I can find any jpegs of 'em in my folder for this project; dunno where the hell I stashed the g-d things. Ah, but I definitely recognize Ninjette's airborne pose from this shot, which is riffing on an obscure but personally iconic Shirow panel from Appleseed vol.3 that depicted superhuman catgirl Artemis upside-down in mid-flight as she leapt over speeding traffic. Alas, I can't find my copy of that tankoubon right now nor can I find a relevant jpeg online, so you'll just have to take my word on the matter. (BTW, I couldn't recall Artemis' name and had to look that up online, despite drawing the character a bajillion-odd times back in the late-80s/early 90s, mostly as con sketches for furry enthusiasts.)
