We now conclude serialization of 2014's one-shot Empowered: Internal Medicine (as collected in the anthology volume Empowered Unchained), written by me and featuring color art and lettering on the main story by Guest Artist Brandon Graham; I drew this epilogue scene as well.

Keep in mind that this epilogue was written four to five years before the volume-long action spectacle that would turn out to be Empowered vol. 11; I can no longer recall if, at the time, Internal Medicine's apocalyptic wraparound sequence was intended to be a flash-forward to vol. 11's immediate aftermath. Certainly, the scene we just saw hinted at a vastly more destructive outcome than what would see print in 2019, so this would have to be either a look into an alternate timeline or a harbinger of a future disaster with much bloodier consequences. In the aftermath of Empowered going on indefinite hiatus after the recently released vol. 12, tough to say if or when I might get to address this matter further.
