Panels 2-4: Here's an early appearance of a visual flourish that I began using quite extensively throughout the Empowered volumes to follow—namely, the riff in which I left off the upper-edge outline of Emp's hair. As I recall, this approach really threw my editor and at least a few readers but, hey, I like it, and for good or ill, I'm the only one who gets a vote. Of course, this "open look" would be a problem for a full-color comic, but luckily this is a B&W dealie, right?

Panel 4: You might well ask, what the heck is this mysterious machine being assembled by Rivet? Well, rest assured that you find out tomorrow, webcomic readers. (No SPOILERS, please, long-time readers—and that includes "ding ding ding" confirmation SPOILERS, understand?)

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new. Golly!
