Panel 4: Must admit, I’ve always found the seemingly beatific platitude of “everything happens for a reason” to be considerably less comforting than it’s usually intended to be. Being a natural-born pessimist, I’m prone to completing that sentimental phrase with dire conclusions such as “…and the reason is, God hates you” or “…and the reason is, you deserve to suffer.”

Panel 5: If I may quote the Admiral, “IT’S A TRAP!” That is, it’s “excessive trapezoid-muscle mass” on Thugboy, a stylistic exaggeration I am prone to drawing. Clearly, much of the lad’s never-seen weightlifting regimen must be devoted to “shrugs” and the trap-targeting like.

Looking over the page, I’m amused to belatedly notice that Emp must’ve stripped out of her supersuit very quickly, given the roughly 30-35 seconds worth of Thugboy/ Demonwolf dialogue elapsing before the reappearance of Ninjette with supersuit in tow. Or did ’Jette just yank the hypermembrane right off Emp in a single pull? Mysterious! Also, intriguing!
