Panel 2: Gotta admit, I have no idea whatsoever as to exactly why Opera would be the ideal choice for a ninja’s web browser; I just thought it would be amusing for a ninja—not, stereotypically, known for their technological savvy—to nurse such such a strongly held opinion.

Panel 3: As we’ll see later, this ninja clan eschews the stereotypical “Kabuki stage-mover” black costume so commonly attributed to the shinobi. In fact, we never see these particular warriors in anything but contemporary clothing.

Panels 4 & 5: While I’m not normally a fan of the “static shot” repeating in two or more panels, I do like a static shot that does repeat but with a major change between panels—here, the bloody kama sickles popping up in the foreground of the shot.
