Another panel-free, “vignette-style” page of Sexy Librarian Emp in high-contrast distress! Huzzah! And thus ends the conventional narrative portion of this chapter, as after this point the story strays off in a more unconventional manner, as we’ll see. The original, incomplete version of this scene rolled onward for quite a few more pages before finally sputtering to a cliffhanging close. For whatever it’s worth, the “Mysterious Dumbass” was, if I recall correctly, the ghost of a supervillain highly enthused about trussing up distress-worthy damsels. Ah, but in this Empowered vol. 3 incarnation of the hastily edited and thrown-together story, we’ll return shortly to the Caged Demonwolf as a storyteller growing weary of an improperly responsive audience.

Should note, by the way, that I’m slightly puzzled by the sound FX “FSHINKK” and “SHNKK” here, which have a more clanking, metallic feel to my present-day (figurative) ear. For cloth knotting around Emp’s distinctly non-metallic, softer-sounding “PP” FX like “FSHMPP” or the like seem more appropriate.
