Panel 1: From my grim bygone days of underemployment and cranking out fetish-y sketches—which did lead to Empowered, after all—I should note for the more naïve among you that the “over-the-shoulder carry” is a popular subject in “damsel-in-distress” (DiD) commissions. (Presumably Ocelotina is well aware of this.)

Panel 4: Ah, yes, my ill-fated decision—first blundered into during Empowered vol. 2—to go with “YouToobe” instead of “YouTube.” I was, presumably, gunshy after disastrous experiences with using real product names earlier in my career, but no doubt I could’ve gotten away with referencing “YouTube” directly in this context. Oh, well.

Panel 5: Behold, the rarely seen workroom—or just computer room?—in Emp’s apartment. First seen, I think, in the Empowered vol. 1 story in which Emp tried to interest Ninjette in the sensual world of prose fanfiction. In fact, you might keep the topic of Emp’s shameless love of “fanfic” in mind, as it will soon become germane in this very volume.
