Y’know, I probably should tack a few paragraphs into the About section of this site addressing my previous career in print comics, as a fair number of Empowered readers will have no idea what books I’m talking about over the next few pages of Metatextual Emp.

Here, Emp is discussing my run writing and drawing an original, English-language comic series—or series of miniseries, actually—based on the Japanese SF characters The Dirty Pair. Specifically, she’s mentioning the fifth miniseries, The Dirty Pair: Fatal But Not Serious, in which one of the two title characters gets killed at the end of the story—though she lives on, in a way. I would bleat “SPOILER ALERT” about said plot twist, but all my Dirty Pair work is long out of print and effectively impossible to find; I hope to reprint that old material someday, but have no idea when—or, to be honest, if—that might possibly happen.
