Panel 1: Most of this sequence is based on several fairly traumatic real-life experiences in which I or a friend—or both—had to cope with wailing, sobbing, projectile-vomiting “lightweights” who tried to punch far beyond their figurative alcohol “weight class.” Bad enough to deal with one’s own beyond-the-limit hearty partying, but arguably much worse to cope with someone else’s unwisely excessive consumption. (Or much more annoying, at least.)
What a pity—I guess?—that we never see the scene referenced in panel 2. Take that, Sistah Spooky’s shoes!
Panel 4’s bit about blackouts still amuses me to no end. Not derived from a real-life experience, as far as I can recall. But would I remember if it were? Ha ha!
Ah, yes, during my own school-era experiences along these lines, I do remember the soothing coolness of a bathroom’s tile floor as a comfort during such troubling times, however less than ideally hygienic a scenario that might be.
