Panel 1: Rare enough to see Ninjette without her hair up, but rarer still to see Kozue with her hair wet and plastered down. Unusual!

Panel 2: Rather awkward (left) hand on Emp in this shot, as here we’re hitting an angle at which I have difficulty drawing the human hand well. Then again, hands are freaking difficult, folks, though feet may be even more of a challenge. Making matters worse, by the way, is the fact that for many or most artists—including myself—the task isn’t so much drawing accurate human anatomy, but rather drawing anatomy that looks good, in a widely subjective sense. (Meaning that I might be referring to drawings ranging from highly attractive to deliberately ugly, depending on the intended result. That is, I’ve seen many a beautiful drawing of a hideous critter, if you follow me.) The last year or so of life drawing I’ve done has shown me that one can draw a human figure or body part that is, in fact, highly accurate to real life, but nonetheless find that it’s something you would not want to include in a comic or illustration.
