Hrmm. Gotta admit, it’s kinda tough to comment on a bonus page that’s already commenting on its own material.

Note that I still used linen-finish cardstock for the book’s title pages back then. If you look closely enough at the pencil lines and shading, you can spot the linen’s faint, cloth-like patterning. Back in the early 90s, I started using that type of paper for con sketches as the patterning added a li’l je ne sais quoi jazziness to otherwise undistinguished pencil art. Up until a few years ago I still deployed the ol’ linen for Empowered chapter breaks, but eventually grew frustrated with its graininess, low resolution, and incredibly pronounced tendency to smudge and smear my pencils. Nowadays, my title pages use the same Staples paper as the rest of the interior pages.
