Panel 1: Whatever the virtues of my pencil technique, one of them definitely isn’t its applicability to rendering flat background tones for a “blue sky with clouds” shot. Grand swathes of gray tone are pretty much impossible for my usual pencil approach, alas.

Panel 6: Yeah, I got tired of the “fake company name” riff from the cover illo—as you might or might not recall, “FexEd” was emblazoned upon the envelope that appears there. Thought I’d try something different by censoring the actual FedEx logo, an idea that turned out to be highly unsuccessful. Oh, well.
