Merrrrrrry Christmas, everybody! *JINGLE JINGLE*

Panel 4: The word “desultory” is one I’ve read many times, but never heard spoken aloud until about ten years ago, when I blurted in response, “Jeez, that’s how you pronounce that word?” Interestingly, there’s a slight difference in pronunciation of “desultory” between American and UK English, if you wanna take a listen.

(For some reason, I always thought it was pronounced more like “dee SULL tow ree,” which has no connection to either the US or UK iteration.)

Also, time for another example of Emp’s tiny, too-short feet! Congrats, readers who have long complained about this random stylistic flourish throughout the series; now I agree with y’all, and have largely expunged that visual riff from my drawing. Then again, this figure as a whole is rather a mess, gotta say, as it’s another big-headed “popsicle Emp” drawing common to this era of Empowered. Wellp, nothin’ to do but shrug and say, “Embracing imperfection is how this series came to exist, okay?”
