Panel 2: In Spooky’s earlier vol. 5 rampage, pity I didn’t think to show the destruction of the Caped Justice Awards that were glimpsed on a shelf in the background of this room back in vol. 4, which might’ve been compellingly symbolic of the ranting sorceress casting aside the priorities she once held.

Panel 3: At one point, I briefly considered systematizing Spooky’s spell-casting gestures—or defining the “somatic components” of her magic, per AD&D, rather than just drawing random hand movements. (Never quite got around to doing that, alas.) This might’ve wound up being a gestural version of the strictly delineated symbol-writing system in the recent manga Witch Hat Atelier, come to think of it.
