Sound the Overdialoguing Alert for this two-page sequence, which would’ve worked out better if I’d extended the dialogue over three pages—or maaaaybe used a nine-panel grid for the previous page instead of a six-panel one. Problem is, however, I was loath to draw much in the way of radio-studio interiors for this sequence, hence the time- and stress-saving but undeniably cheap use of close-ups on the "AM 1250 THE CAPE" logo.

Panel 1: Yeahp, the Empverse apparently boasts superhero fantasy leagues along roughly the same lines as (American) fantasy football. I don’t participate in the latter, but as I do listen to countless hours of sports-talk radio while working, I’m certainly familiar with its concepts and terminology.

Anyhoo, that’s it for our two-page exploration of the wacky idea of cape fantasy leagues, folks. Tomorrow, we cut back to the group funeral scene from three pages ago—and stand by for the first appearances of two recurring characters who will play significant roles in the rest of Empowered vol. 6.
