Aaaaaand we’re out of Spooky’s memories and back to the Cape Karaoke Night setting, folks, just in time for a whole lotta set-up for Empowered vol. 8’s epic, sprawling, climactic plotline! Rest assured that this page’s rather cryptic references—The Vorpal Sword? Object 524? The retirees?—will bear fruit in a big way in our next volume (which is one of my personal favorite installments of the entire series, in fact).

Panel 2: Yeahp, Spooky is too cool to actually hold her wineglass with a flesh and blood hand, but instead uses magic-powered psychokinesis, as hinted at by the wee, whiteout-rendered sparkles around the glass.
