Panels 1 & 3: More appearances of a stylized art riff I've dubbed "the profile cheat," in which we see a character in profile for clarity's sake, even though her head would "in reality" (ahem) need to be turned considerably further away from the camera in order to face the other character she's listening to or addressing. The cheat, alas, only works with highly cartoony art styles, as (IMHO) readers would notice the incorrect angle much more quickly given a more realistic art approach.
