Panel 1: "GCHOK" being a neat sound FX that my late friend Toren Smith worked up for the English translation of the manga Blade of the Immortal. I do believe that I came up with the later FX "CHONKK" on my own, though.

Panel 3: A decade or so ago on Twitter, I excerpted this panel as "What's Masahiro-kun's favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner?" (As in pumpkin pie, presumably, though sweet potato pie might be an option as well.)
