Panel 2: An early appearance of wacky-looking symbols indicating the spell language of ninja magic at work, based on supposedly—ahem—“real” characters I dug up from a very dubious page in one of my many, many books of ninjutsu reference. (Said books range in dubiousness from “arguably historical” to “out-and-out ridiculously unbelievable ninja-riffic goofiness.”

Panel 4: This, folks, would be the incendiary ninja art of enkyou youjutsu mentioned by Ninjette twenty-odd pages ago, described by her as “a fiery shock and awe dealie, pretty much.” An accurate description indeed!
