And lo, we've flashed back to a scene from this volume's anthology-format opening chapter, folks.

Panel 1: Strong composition on this first panel, if I do say so myself, featuring my beloved camera tilt—though, for once, the tilt is counterclockwise rather than the clockwise form that usually appears in my panels. BTW, screw the notably pejorative term "Dutch angle" for this approach, as I feel that camera tilts add much-needed interest and compositional variance to comic panels without necessarily veering into wackiness a la the 60s Batman TV series' "BIFF! BAM! POW!" shenanigans. Note that camera tilts can also free up extra space for word balloons and help hide the ol' horizon line, which aids the scheming artist in fudging and/or finessing perspective drawing.

Today’s Patreon Update: As I did last month, I'm taking off the third week of June from putting up new Patreon content, as I just can't keep up an every-weekday posting schedule while struggling to make progress on Empowered vol.12. However, my vast archive of years of Patreon posts—extensive Empowered previews, vintage con sketches, work stages on covers, "damsel in distress" commissions, life drawings & much, much more—remains available for Patrons' perusal.
