Yeahpo, Spooky forcing Emp to escape was indeed a pretty strong echo of how the late Mindf**k did the same back at the end of Empowered vol. 5. (I'd include a link, but I'm not feeling ambitious enough this Sunday morning at 5:50am to look up said link—though, in fact, typing this sentence probably took longer than doing so. Whoops!)

Interestingly enough, I'm not quite sure that I deliberately wrote those two scenes to echo each other, or if this was a form of repetition that occurred organically as I was racing through the end of Empowered vol. 8. As vividly as I can recall much of the riveting experience of writing and drawing nearly 44 g-d pages in a month(!) as I barreled through this sequence, some aspects of that creative peak still feel like a hazy fever dream to me in retrospect.

Today’s Patreon update: In an attempt to scratch out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new. Golly!
