Panel 1: I considered a badder-ass riff of Emp either demanding that the door out of the Star Chamber be opened for her or just VORPPing the door open herself... but well, folks, by this point in the sprawlingly overlong Empowered vol. 9, I just wanted to wrap up the scene ASAFP.

UPDATE: Come to think of it, on the "STOMP STOMP" tip, those could be considered "semi-figurative" sound FX, as much as I normally dislike that concept; or, as a commenter mentioned recently, those could be superpowered STOMPs, which is certainly a possibility.

Panels 2-5: Remember what I said a few days ago about the loose strand of hair often seen hanging over Emp's left eye, and how that character design riff (dating back to Emp's earliest appearances) would gradually stop appearing in later volumes? Wellp, I didn't expect the loose strand to already disappear only two or three pages later. Golly!
