I spent a bit over three years of my youth in New Jersey, but wouldn't know where to start with attempting a faux "Joisey" accent. Then again, I've spent most of the rest of my life in New England, and wouldn't fare any better at trying to depict a regional dialect. My years in California wouldn't have helped either, as almost everyone I knew in the Bay Area originally hailed from elsewhere else in the country—or Canada, or Japan. IIRC, I had a grand total of two (2) friends out there who were actual native Californians, and their speech patterns were fairly nondescript.
Tomorrow on the webcomic serialization, we close out Empowered vol. 9 with the book's back-cover illo. Full color ahoy, folks!
Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out
more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12,
I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that
won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what
today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed
Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per
month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design
departments, or possibly something entirely new. Golly!
