Panel 4: Emp's apartment is based loosely on the place I rented in San Francisco back during my ill-fated early-20s California stint (in a bygone era when indie cartoonists could actually live in the Bay Area), but with a notably different layout; no windows existed on that side of the real-life apartment, as it was a second-floor dealie in a row house sporting only north-south-facing windows. TBH, not entirely sure why I'm bothering to mention this obscure factoid, but at least I managed to pad out this commentary, right?

Today’s Patreon update: In an attempt to scratch out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new.
