Some comic artists consider the use of white outlines around characters to "pop" them out from a black ground to be a big no-no; needless to say, I do not hold that sentiment. Howeva, this scene really takes the white-line riff to a new extreme in that not only are the characters outlined by white, but also the word balloons and, on occasion, the edges of the panel gutters, as seen in panel 3's upper left corner.

Next week on the webcomic serialization, the Executive Council's interrogation of Emp moves on to more sweeping issues of a spacefaring sort...

Today’s Patreon update: In an attempt to scratch out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used.
