 Glancing over this page, I belatedly realized that, of the countless hundreds of times I’ve seen depictions of superheroes flinging automobiles at their foes, never once has said action actually brought an end to the battle. Instead, tossing cars always seems to be a visually impressive but invariably ineffective stunt, adding empty spectacle—not to mention filling and/or killing time—during a cape-related conflict. Car throws are, I believe, the drum solos of superhero action scenes.
