Panel 3: Ah, the delightful “L-shaped panel,” a riff I stole—nay, “borrowed,” or perhaps homaged—from a Frank Thorne-drawn Red Sonja comic. Thorne actually uses multiple L-shaped panels in concentric arrays, as seen in the attached page below:
Pretty sure I once saw a Thorne page that boasted a senses-shattering four concentric L-shaped panels, which is a bit further “out there” than I care to go in my own work.
Panel 4: The original—and incomplete—version of this story didn’t feature the Caged Demonwolf’s dialogue, and in fact was probably never intended to be a “real” Empowered story as such. So, when I threw this partial story fragment into vol. 3 out of sheer, deadline-induced desperation, I slapped in Demonwolf riffing to jumpstart some humor into a straightforward “damsel in distress” episode. Note, of course, that the hastily improvised joke in this revised panel is that the Blazing-Eyed Devilgoat’s narration deprives the reader of a view of the toothsome rump being described. Oh, that rascally Scourge of the Spaceways!
