Am presently tearing through this slate of commentaries to get ’em ready before I bail off to the ol’ San Diego Comic-Con for the first time in a few years. Gotta say, I’d planned to skip out on the show again this year but circumstances conspired and lo, off I am once more. Of course, comics as such are largely irrelevant to SDCC now—and I’m largely irrelevant to comics, myself—so missing the show isn’t a big deal either way, save for the grievous expenses involved. Still, I do feel a mild sense of nostalgia when I head out there, as I’ve been going to San Diego off and on ever since the summer I graduated from the Joe Kubert School and started writing and drawing The Dirty Pair.
