We continue serialization of the collected edition of the six-issue 2018 miniseries Empowered and Sistah Spooky’s High School Hell, written and laid out by me and featuring art and lettering by Guest Artist Carla “Speed” McNeil and coloring by Jenn Manley Lee.

Amusingly enough, the sound FX I use in comics are so formulaic and repetitive that I can instantly spot the ones that Carla customized a wee bit when she lettered 'em on this page; "SHLUPPT" ending with a "T" isn't one I would've used, nor the "K" at the end of "BLORTK". (SHLUPP and BLORPP were what I would've originally written.) Ah, but the repetitive nature of the limited array of FX I deploy is due to the sad reality that only a handfui of lettered onomatopoeia pass muster with the inscrutable algorithm in my head that determines "sound FX acceptability." ("Sigh," as Emp would put it.)

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used.
