Panel 2: Time to sound the ol' Excessively Petite Feet Alert once more, folks! Alas, soon that particular Alert will sound no more, as after this volume I embarked on my year(s)-long odyssey of near-daily life drawing, one of the side effects of which was that Excessively (if Randomly) Petite Feet were no longer "a thing" in mon oeuvre, for good or ill.

I'm slightly more mystified by 2016 Me's choice to show Emp pointing her toes in this manner, though I suspect that I might've done so just to keep her g-d feet fully visible in the narrow vertical space available in this panoramic panel's format; otherwise, her toesies would've been jammed against the upper borderline, I suppose.

Note that this story kicks off in my preferred manner of "initial page with 4-5 slightly unclear if not cryptic images," to be followed tomorrow by "splash page fully revealing the setting and situation." I would've sworn that I had cribbed that storytelling riff semi-recently from the chapter openings of Tetsuro Ueyama's early-2000s manga Solevision Mitsuyoshi, but recently realized that versions of this approach appear in my work as far back as 1995's Dirty Pair: Fatal But Not Serious, and arguably even in A Plague of Angels and SimHell. "Hrmmm," as the Caged Demonwolf might say.

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new. Golly!
