I recall being amused of late when a commenter noted that "no one talks like this" re: Le Chevalier Blanc's bizarrely mangled, randomly language-switching melange of French and English. That is quite correct, as this fellow's speech pattern does not sound like any conventional form of "Franglais" that I've ever heard—or spoken, for that matter, when I still recalled enough French vocabulary to attempt conversation en Français. The fact that no one speaks like this would, in fact, be part of the admittedly obnoxious joke here.

Then again, the other primary element of not-for-everyone humor inherent to this character has nothing whatsoever to do with language, a none too subtle point that will become ever clearer in successive pages.
