Nope, I'm clearly not gonna clear a week's worth of commentary in 30 minutes, as me stopwatch stands at 29:52 as I type this sentence. Oh, well. (Note that I've been timing out my work hours quite closely for a few months now, often to my dismay.)
Anyhoo, while I do appreciate the improvement in anatomical depiction and shading that 2017-18's long stretches of life drawing brought to my work in Empowered vol. 11, in retrospect I can't say that I'm thrilled by the slowdown in productivity and worktime efficiency that such an improved but clearly more time-consuming artistic approach brought to my comics work. In fact, I'm still wrestling with this issue today as I flail around with a varied series of workflow experiments on fantasy test comic The Chaste and the Chained, as seen on me ol' Patreon. Speaking of which:
Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. However, my vast archive of years of Patreon posts—extensive Empowered previews, work-in-progress updates on developmental projects such as fantasy comics The Chaste and the Chained and The Last Party, vintage con sketches, work stages on covers, "damsel in distress" commissions, life drawings & much, much more—remains available for Patrons' perusal.
