Must admit, another factor that slowed down my productivity on Empowered vol. 11 was that I kept using photoreference for ongoing anatomy and shading guidance throughout the book, rather than relying more on whatever degree of life drawing knowledge I'd managed to pound into my head over a long stint of near-daily sketching throughout 2017-18. TBH, folks, I would strongly recommend a more systematic and analytical approach to your life drawing practice, as opposed to the "brute force" degree of sheer repetition I chose to use.
Next week on the webcomic, this warm 'n' fuzzy flashback wraps up as serialization heads off into the long, violent nightmare of Empowered vol. 11 proper.
Commentary worktime elapsed this Sunday morning, BTW: 45 minutes total, which is a tad more than the half hour I actually set aside for this task. "Sigh," to quote Emp.
Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out
more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12,
I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that
won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what
today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed
Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per
month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design
departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on
fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
