Panel 3: A few pages back, I said that Ninjette wasn’t superhuman as such—at least, not compared to the Empverse’s overtly superpowered “capes”—but she’s clearly very, very strong indeed, given how she accidentally shatters a beer bottle. (Not to mention that she fails to notice the pain of both her hands being injured by, respectively, glass shards and the shuriken earring.) Guess I’d have to describe her as perhaps mildly superhuman, in contrast to the average gamma-ray-spewing, flight-capable, nigh-invulnerable Empowered superhero.

Panel 4: Note the obvious replication of panel 1’s layout here, with the key change being Thugboy’s disconcerted expression as he realizes that he may have berated the inebriated, unstable ninja a tad more than was strictly advisable.

Panel 6: New readers may rest assured that, roughly 200 or so pages from now during the last act of Empowered vol.3, you will learn exactly what Ninjette’s clan thought she was good for.
