Panel 1: I draw your attention to the deceased characters in the foreground at right. I have no intention of clarifying exactly who they are, alas, but I nonetheless draw your attention to them.

Panel 2: Some old-school Big, Pouty Lips on Emp in this panel, folks. Enjoy ’em while you can, as such “Soupcoolers Grandes” (as one reader put it, if I recall correctly) have almost entirely disappeared from my modern-era artwork. Then again, the Big Poutiness persists in the next few Empowered volumes, at the very least.
