Panel 4: Er, maaaaybe Younger Thugboy didn’t actually leave the unnamed powersuit-wearing villain to die? Then again, as we’ll see, he might have a bit of an Old Testament policy towards offending supervills. Try to pull off Q-Dog’s head, buddy, and you’re on your own.

Panel 5: Just as well that Thugboy later got his Witless Minions tattoo removed—as referenced in an Empowered vol. 2 dream sequence—as the g-d ink was rather difficult to letter. Whew!

Panel 6: The “ducats” reference may well be a terminology tribute to a lengthy period in the late 90s or early 2000s when I listened to Jim Rome’s sports radio show on a daily basis. *cue “Lust for Life” playing in the background*
