Panel 1: Note the use of curving speedlines in this shot, as drawn using a “French curve” template. I’ve always found this to be an easy way to add a little more visual interest to speedline shots, gotta say.

In a bizarre side note, whilst digging up that previous Wikipedia link, I was startled to discover that the drawing tool I’ve always heard referred to as a “flexible curve” was, at one time in the distant past, referred to as a “Lesbian rule,” apparently due to the fact that it used lead from the isle of Lesbos. Frankly, this is too amazing a factoid to spoil with further research, folks.

Panel 4: Keep in mind that Ninjette has removed her shuriken earrings, which do indeed prove to be a very minor plot point in the scene that follows.
