Panel 1: Also not thrilled with having the Caged Demonwolf coin the unimpressive neologism “jokelatory,” when the real word “jocular” might have served just as well. Oh, well.

Panel 2: Behold, what is—I think—the first time we see Ninjette with her hair down. Nice shot, 2007-ish Me! 

Also, the “Shimoku clan” is a reference to Kio Shimoku, creator of the manga Genshiken. Back when I was drawing this volume, Genshiken was one of my favorite translated manga, especially with the introduction of the self-hating yaoi artist Chika Ogiue, a personal fave character. Alas, I can’t bring myself to care much about the more recent Genshiken: Second Season manga, perhaps in part because one of my least favorite characters from the original series (Madarame, BTW) becomes an inexplicable lust object for most of the new series’ cast members. Oh, well.

Panel 3: Why, that’s two quality images of hair-down Ninjette in a row! Well done, Past Me!

Panel 4: Ehh, not so thrilled with this Ninjette shot. Not bad at all, but just not quite as nice as the previous two panels.

Frankly, this panel—and this page as a whole—is a fair bit overdialogued, but I must admit that I do like the third balloon’s line about “raising ’em in pens like veal.”
