Panel 1: “IT’S A TRAP!” alert on Thugboy, as here we see another occasion where 2007-ish Me went a tad overboard with depicting his trapezoid muscles. In fact, the real problem was to do with the way I depict the trapezoids’ junctures with his neck, but no point in wallowing in anatomical minutiae right now. Let’s just say that back then I wasn’t doing much life drawing for practice, as opposed to the nearly daily studies I do nowadays.

Panel 3 is, as you may recall, a reference to the traumatic incident Emp describes during the last story in Empowered vol. 2.
