Panel 2: Not a fan of the folds and wrinkles on Ninjette’s shirt, here, which are very much an overly stylized visual riff that’s a straightforward sign of me just kinda hacking out clothing without bothering to look up any photoreference. Not that I necessarily need to be using reference for every g-d thing—nor do I necessarily have the time to do so—but sometimes drawing “straight off the dome” doesn’t result in ideally acceptable results. Oh, well.
Panel 5: A recurring problem throughout Empowered is that, whenever I draw a close-up in the lower portion of the page, the character’s mouths often get partially cropped off in the production stage. Good idea to keep those g-d mouths well clear of the bottom of the g-d page, folks.
