Panel 1: Y’know, I really thought that Wet Blanket’s line, here, was “Just ’cause we’re evil doesn’t mean we have to be eeeeeeevil, okay?” Not a huge difference, but I mistakenly recalled that “evil” was used twice; clearly, I “misremembered,” to quote Roger Clemens.

Panel 4: Once again, the motif of old-school Italian horror movies reappears in Empowered; to be honest, this might be a bit of an increasingly anachronistic stretch, especially given the decade that’s passed since I wrote this. Arguably more likely that Laserbrain would be into a more recent genre of gory horror movie, gotta say.

And yeahp, there’s the supranym for another member of the team: Laserbrain, folks! As in Princess Leia’s line addressing Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back, “I don’t know where you get your delusions, laser brain.” In truth, this may be the greatest lost opportunity of all in the recent The Last Jedi; imagine how much more awesome that movie would’ve been if General Organa were casually slinging around a few choice “laser brain” jabs. (Okay, maybe not.)

Plus, let’s face it, I should’ve invested a li’l more effort in devising a version of An Inconvenient Truth that was tailored more specifically to a superhero universe. Oh, well.
